A FEW SMALL DETAILS
- Gen-Xer, grew up in Indianapolis.
- Attended Indiana University where I worked on the school paper as a cartoonist and editorial columnist; was also a DJ on the campus radio station.
- Started my career in radio doing a little bit of everything: copywriting, production, promotions, and on-air work.
- Moved to L.A. in 2003 to pursue a screenwriting career that never took off (shocking, I know). I did eventually land an industry-adjacent role in entertainment marketing with the Los Angeles Times, where I met the brilliant, incredible woman who later became my wife.
- We moved to Seattle in 2014, where I managed the digital comics storefront for an obscure online retailer. Started teaching myself computer animation in my spare time.
- Relocated to Round Rock, TX in 2018.
- Rooting interest in the Hoosiers, Hammers, Bears, Kings, Cubs, and Bulls. [Will cheer for teams from places I used to live (Indy, LA, Seattle) as long as they’re not playing one of my “real” clubs.]

HEY, HOW COME YOU AREN’T ON SOCIAL MEDIA?
Oh, I am…I just keep my profiles gated.
As a marketer, I know social media is a very useful and powerful tool. I know these platforms—and how to leverage them—very well.
Knowing them how I do is also why I limit my time spent on them in “civilian” life (and who can see me when I am there). My only public profiles are on YouTube, LinkedIn, and Letterboxd. Otherwise, if there’s something I want to share with the world at large…well, that’s what this website is for.

I HOPE YOU LIKE POP CULTURE METAPHORS!
There’s an episode of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” where the crew encounters an alien race that communicates entirely though metaphors and references to ancient myth. I’m not quite that bad, but I do tend to use sports and pop culture references a lot.
Speaking in references no one understands didn’t work out too well for poor Captain Dathon, so when I’m not at least 95-percent sure a normal person would get it, I try to link out to YouTube clips or GIFs of what I’m referencing. Hopefully that’ll help clarify whatever point I’m trying to make at any given moment.
